Benda is one of those young motorcycle brands coming from China. Created less than a decade ago in Hangzhou, the manufacturer has wasted no time in making a name for itself thanks to its original style concepts that gave birth to the LFC 700 and LFS 700.
Recently arrived in France through MagPower, Benda has continued to offer models with original designs, like its Napoleon bobber, which is almost reminiscent of some old Confederate machines with its girder-look front end that actually hides a simple telescopic fork under an ingenious fairing.
Benda is also using this style on its future BD250, another bobber that breaks the mold in the 250cc motorcycle segment by opting for a level of equipment rarely seen on machines that are supposed to be affordable.
Still relying on a V-twin engine, this time a quarter-liter one, housed in a double cradle steel tube frame, the BD250 goes for a fake hardtail rear end and takes up the idea of the Napoleon for its front suspension.
There is still a telescopic fork dressed up to give the illusion of girder-type operation, but with a more elaborate design that even has a shock absorber.Homologation documents reveal that the V-twin is capable of delivering 25.
5 horsepower for a weight of 182 kg and a wheelbase of 1,544 mm. The chassis also includes 18-inch rims shod with 130/80 at the front and 160/70 at the rear, as well as a huge front brake disc gripped by a 4-piston radial caliper.
Visually very successful, the Benda BD250 should not, however, make the trip to France, if only for homologation reasons.
In addition to the BD250, Benda is also expected to release a number of other new models in the coming years, including:
- A 600cc cruiser
- A 300cc adventure bike
- A 125cc scooter.
Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
